LOWER MORELAND HIGH SCHOOL PARKING GUIDELINES

VEHICLE REGISTRATION – 2024-2025

Parking at Lower Moreland High School is a privilege and by registration only.  

  • ALL VEHICLES ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH AND SEIZURE ON THE LOWER MORELAND HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS.  School officials and Lower Moreland Security Personnel may lawfully search the property of students without probable cause but with reasonable suspicion.  (Superior Court of PA 3/18/99 No. 2231)

  • Vehicles should be locked at all times while on school property.

  • Lower Moreland Township School District is not responsible for loss due to theft or vandalism of vehicles parked on the Lower Moreland High School campus.  

  • Vehicle registration(s) must correspond with the student’s current living address.

  • Any changes in vehicle or license status must be reported to the Security Officer.  Failure to do so could result in loss of hang tag and parking privileges.

HANG TAGS

  • A hang tag will be assigned and issued pending approval of the application.
  • Hang tags must be displayed from the rearview mirror while on Lower Moreland High School campus

  • Lost hang tags must be reported to the security officer ASAP.  Lost hang tags must be replaced within 2 school days.  There is a $5.00 fee for a replacement hang tag.

  • Disciplinary action will be taken for failure to display a hang tag, vehicles not parked in assigned space and any vehicle parked on school property not registered.

  • Registered spaces may never be sold, rented or given to other students.

  • Violations may result in two warnings, disciplinary action according to the Code of Conduct, loss of parking privileges and a citation may be issued.

  • After the second citation ($25.00) the car may be booted by school district personnel. The vehicle will remain booted until all outstanding violations are paid.

  • If any outstanding parking violations and/or citations remain unpaid after a period of 7 calendar days after the boot is placed on the vehicle, the vehicle may be towed. The owner of the car will be responsible for payment of any money owed and all costs associated with the towing. 

  • Excessive school lateness and/or detentions can result in loss of hang tag/parking privileges.

  • Failure to comply with traffic flow of the parking lot, directives of LMHS Security Personnel, and/or reckless, careless driving OR inappropriate/insubordinate behavior of passenger(s) may result in the loss of the hang tag parking privileges.

  • After the hang tag has been issued, failure to serve assigned detentions and/or clear obligations can result in loss of hang tag parking privileges.

Failure to comply with the guidelines set forth in this document could result in the following disciplinary action:

  • Parking fines must be paid within 14 days of citation. An outstanding parking fine obligation may prevent a student’s participation at school events, including dances and proms.

  • Fines paid by check should be addressed to LMTSD.
