Welcome to the 2023 Lions Summer Sports Camp

Camp runs from June 26, 2023 - August 4, 2023

Due to spacing in the gym, we can accept 60 students per week. If a week fills, it will be removed from the form as an option.

The Lions Summer Sports Camp is available for students in grades 2 through 8 (in Fall 2023), offering them the opportunity to participate in various sports to stay active, have fun, and sharpen their athletic skills throughout the summer. The Camp is held at the Lower Moreland High School. Some of the sports students will enjoy include: Basketball, Softball, Tennis, Soccer, Badminton, Swimming, Archery, Floor Hockey, Volleyball, Football, Lacrosse, Baseball, and Team Handball.

During the morning sessions, students will work with instructors going over the finer components of various sports. Competitions will be held throughout the morning to sharpen their skills.

Afternoon activities will include daily swimming and additional athletic activities outside of the camper's morning specialty sport, giving each camper the opportunity to learn and participate in a variety of fun-filled activities. 

Sample Schedule of a Day at Camp
9:00 - Arrival & Warm-Up Activities
9:30 - Specialty Sport #1 (Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Etc.)
10:45 - Specialty Sport #2 (Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Etc.)
11:30 - Lunch (Bring your own or buy)
12:15 - Swimming
1:00 - All Camp Activity #1 (Indoor Soccer, Volleyball, Badminton, Etc.)
1:45 - All Camp Activity #2 (Indoor Soccer, Volleyball, Badminton, Etc.)
2:30 - Regular Dismissal
2:30 - 4:00 Late Pick Up (Extra Charge)

Upon filling out this form, Lower Moreland students will be invoiced through My School Bucks. You can view/pay your invoice at www.myschoolbucks.com by clicking on School Store > School Invoices. You should also receive an emailed copy of your invoice. We prefer you pay online. However, if you prefer, you may pay by check. Please submit your payment via check made payable to Lower Moreland Township School District (LMTSD) to:

*Please write your student's full name and Student ID (if child is an LM student) in the memo of the check.

Registration will not be complete until payment is submitted.
Payment in full is due by June 5th.

Must pay for weeks and days in full. No discounts for partial day or week attendance


FAQs

How much does camp cost?
Camp is 5 days a week.  The cost is $170 for the first week of attendance, which includes a $25 registration fee.  Each additional week is $145. The week of July 3 is discounted because there will be no camp on July 3 or July 4. If this week will be your first week of camp the cost for that week is $112. If it is your second week of camp the cost is $87. 

Do you offer late pick-up?
The extended day runs from 2:30-4:00 PM. The cost is $70 per week or $14 per day. We do not offer pick-up beyond 4:00 PM.

Do you accept late registrations?
We staff based on the number of students enrolled. Therefore, we cannot accept registrations past the registration deadline.

Can I pay for partial days or weeks?
Weeks must be paid in full. We do not offer discounts for partial day or week attendance.

What should we bring to camp?
Students should bring a bathing suit, towel, water, snack and/or lunch. Students can choose to purchase lunch through camp. Camp lunch is $5 per day (cash only) for pizza or a small hoagie (Italian, Turkey or Ham), small chips, and water.

Where should I drop my student off? 
Student drop off/pick up is at the Lower Moreland High School. Due to construction, please drop students off at the side entrance near the tennis courts. Counselors will be outside.

Can I drop my student off early?
Students may not be dropped off before 9AM. There are no exceptions.

Is there a lifeguard on duty?
There is a lifeguard at the pool.

What if my student does not know how to swim?
A swim assessment will be given to every student at the beginning of their first swimming session, regardless of their swimming ability, to determine expectations in the pool. If your student needs a life jacket, please send one in with them. If your student will not be swimming, they will work with counselors on other activities during swim time. 

Do students learn how to play different sports?
Students will learn how to play various sports and will focus on the ones they are most interested in.

Do students need to bring their own sporting equipment?
Students do not need to bring their own sporting equipment.
