Curriculum Review

Social Studies Curriculum Review   The Social Studies department is in the second year of the curriculum review cycle.  Piloting of materials will be completed by November 23, 2010 and final selection and approval of materials will take place by the end of February 2011.  We have already begun reviewing current curricula for revision, and will begin writing/revising in the Spring of 2011.  As part of the revision process, the department is proposing the following:

1.  Increase graduation reqirement in Social Studies from 3 to 3.5 credits

2.  Require .5 credit in Political Science for graduation

3.  Offer elective in AP Human Geography for grades 9/10

4.  Transition to etexts in grades 9-11
